Preventative Dentistry
- Teeth cleaning, also known as dental prophylaxis, is a professional procedure performed by a dentist or dental hygienist to remove plaque, tartar (hardened plaque), and stains from the surfaces of teeth. It is an essential part of maintaining good oral hygiene and preventing dental issues such as cavities and gum disease.
- Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral found in water, soil, and certain foods. It is also widely used in dental products and treatments due to its proven ability to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities.
- Oral Cancer Screening is a process in which a dentist or healthcare provider checks for signs of oral cancer or precancerous conditions in the mouth, throat, and surrounding areas. The goal of screening is to detect cancer early when it is most treatable.
General Dentistry
- Fillings are a common dental procedure used to restore a tooth that has been damaged by decay or cavities. The process involves removing the decayed portion of the tooth and filling the cavity with a material that restores the tooth’s structure and function.
- Extractions, is the process of removing a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. This procedure is performed by a dentist or oral surgeon and is typically recommended when a tooth is severely damaged, decayed, or poses a risk to overall oral health.
- Root Canal is a procedure used to treat and save a tooth that is severely damaged, infected, or decayed. The treatment focuses on removing the infected or inflamed pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth), cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and sealing them to prevent further infection.
- Nightguards, is a custom-made appliance designed to protect your teeth and jaw from the effects of grinding (bruxism) or clenching during sleep. It acts as a barrier between the upper and lower teeth, reducing wear and damage to the teeth and minimizing strain on the jaw muscles.
Cosmetic Dentistry
- Crown is a tooth-shaped cap placed over a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns are commonly used in restorative and cosmetic dentistry to protect and improve the functionality of a tooth.
- Bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by “bridging” the gap between adjacent teeth. It consists of artificial teeth (pontics) anchored in place by natural teeth or dental implants on either side of the gap.
- Veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They are typically made of porcelain or composite resin and are bonded to the teeth to correct a range of cosmetic issues, such as discoloration, chips, gaps, or uneven alignment.
- Dentures
- Fixed, also known as a fixed dental prosthesis, is a non-removable dental restoration used to replace missing teeth. Unlike traditional removable dentures, fixed dentures are securely anchored in place, typically using dental implants, and cannot be taken out by the wearer. Fixed dentures offer a more permanent and stable solution for replacing multiple or all missing teeth.
- Removables are removable appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore function and aesthetics. They are custom-made to fit comfortably in the mouth and can help with eating, speaking, and maintaining the structure of the face.
- Partial is a removable dental appliance designed to replace one or more missing teeth. It fills gaps in the mouth and is supported by the remaining natural teeth, gums, or a combination of both. Dental partials restore oral functionality, improve appearance, and help prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of position.
- Implant Restoration refers to the process of placing a permanent prosthetic tooth or teeth on top of a dental implant to restore the function and appearance of missing teeth. Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once the implant integrates with the bone (a process called osseointegration), it serves as a foundation for attaching a crown, bridge, or denture, depending on the number of teeth being replaced.
Pediatric Dentistry
- Children Exam is a routine dental checkup specifically designed for children to monitor and maintain their oral health as they grow. The exam allows the dentist to assess the condition of the child’s teeth, gums, and overall oral development, as well as to catch potential problems early. Regular exams help ensure that children’s teeth are growing properly and provide an opportunity to educate both parents and children about maintaining good oral hygiene.
- Cleaning is a professional cleaning procedure performed by a dental hygienist or dentist to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from a child’s teeth. This routine procedure is an important part of preventive dental care, as it helps maintain good oral hygiene and prevents cavities, gum disease, and other dental problems.
- Sealants are a preventive treatment designed to protect a child’s teeth from cavities, particularly in the grooves and pits of the back teeth (molars and premolars). A dental sealant is a thin, plastic coating that is applied to the chewing surfaces of these teeth, where decay is most likely to develop. The sealant acts as a barrier, preventing food particles and bacteria from getting trapped in the grooves and causing tooth decay.
- Pediatric Restorative Dentistry focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental issues in children, particularly when it comes to restoring teeth that have been affected by decay, injury, or developmental issues. The goal of pediatric restorative dentistry is to help maintain the child’s oral health, restore damaged or decayed teeth, and ensure proper function and aesthetics as they grow.
